Applications for funded positions to attend the 2012 NZMSA Clinical Leadership

NZMSA is proud to present the 2012 NZMSA Clinical Leadership Forum — an exciting, and intensive one-day event aimed at increasing the leadership capacities of the medical student body. For the very first time, funded positions for general delegates (any NZMSA member) to attend the NZMSA Clinical Leadership Forum have been made available — courtesy of Health Workforce New Zealand. This is a really exciting opportunity for students to develop their leadership skills, and attend a day of inspiring talks and informative seminars.

There are ten funded positions: to apply for one of these positions, please answer the following question in a maximum of 400 words:

“Discuss the major barriers to good health outcomes in New Zealand and explain how you think that this could be addressed.”

Send your application along with the name of your medical school/campus and a brief CV (no longer than 2 pages) to: projects@nzmsa.org.nz by Sunday 26th February. Successful applicants will be notified by February 29th.

The annual NZMSA Clinical Leadership Forum will be held at the Wellington School of Medicine on Saturday the 24th of March.  Themed “The Continuum of Clinical Leadership: Social Accountability, Advocacy and Innovation” the 2012 NZMSA Clinical Leadership Forum aims to empower medical students to become positive advocates for change and increase the breadth of innovative leaders for the benefit of the New Zealand health system for the future.
