Call for registration of interest – NZMSA Global Health National Co-Ordinator

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Are you passionate about global health? Do you like talking to people? Then you might be the right person for a new external NZMSA role.

We are aware that we could do more to help our members (you) get involved with global health. We also know that there are some amazing things happening in the global health realm around the country. In our face-to-face meeting on Thursday, the NZMSA exec accepted a new position to help streamline global health activities amongst medical students – the NZMSA Global Health National Co-Ordinator.

In summary, the role involves liaising with all the global health groups around the country, creating a database of global health contacts to make it easier for students to get in touch with the right group in their centre, keep abreast of all the international global health opportunities available to us (and even get to attend some of them!), and organise a Global Health Month to increase awareness about issues around global health that apply to NZ. You would also need to write regular reports to NZMSA about global health happenings around the country, and will need to attend a meeting as well.

If you think this sounds like something you could do, email Jasveen Kaur at vpe@nzmsa.org.nz and register your interest. More information will be given after registration of interest.
