Beyond the Med School Gates

So, I’m about to finish medical school – now what?

Beyond the Med School Gates in an information evening for Trainee Interns aimed at helping facilitate the transition from medical student to junior doctor.

Learn about financial planning, Kiwisaver, filling in IRD forms, buying a house, medico-legal issues, and other real-worldly matters. Key questions to ask yourself…

  • How will your relationship with MAS and your bank change when you graduate?
  • What are your options for indemnity insurance and how can you choose?
  • How do Kiwisaver and the retirement scheme work, are they right for you?
  • How can you get $30k through the voluntary bonding scheme (you don’t have to start in a rural area, but you do have to register in your first year)
  • What taxes will you have to pay?
  • How will you survive nights?
  • What can you do if it all just feels like too much?

Each year we have an excellent range of speakers to cover any questions you might have.
