Sponsoring the New Zealand Medical Students’ Association provides a unique opportunity to reach a group of respected professionals.  We see this as a valuable investment for any organization that wants to establish lasting relationships with loyal consumers. Medical students and doctors are time-poor, and therefore do not get the same exposure to conventional, untargeted methods of advertising.  By becoming a partner of NZMSA, you will not only be able to make a valuable contribution to an important organisation, but be able to harness a unique marketing opportunity to a specific, difficult to reach, professional group.

The largest event on the NZMSA calendar, Conference, still remains and we are hoping going to be better than ever. Conference ’10 will be held in Queenstown (the first time outside a main centre) from 21-23 May, and is titled “Outside the Box”. Our aim is to develop a conference that focuses specifically on working in a team environment, a skill so crucial to efficient and safe practice. Every year, we look to invite top speakers to our Conference who have been leaders in different fields across medicine. This year, we looking forward to a more interactive conference with panels and participant live voting.

We are also introducing a new charity event this year, which carries the working title “Med students make tracks”. Medical students from across the country will take part in a cycling series from Auckland Medical School to Dunedin Medical School, in an endeavour to encourage physical activity in the general population. It will furthermore act as a fundraiser for a yet to be designated charity.

For a number of years we have be running our ACE Information Evening for Trainee Interns, our “Beyond the Med School Gates” forum for senior medical students to help them prepare for the workforce, and our annual blood drive “The Vampyre Cup”. These events provide unique opportunities for potential sponsors to reach medical students. There are also opportunities to reach our members via: direct marketing on our website, our new member packs, our quarterly publication EMESIS, and more.
